Every Alzheimer patient has
the right to be:
Notified
of their diagnosis.
Able
to receive proper and continual medical attention.
Stimulated
to accomplish supervised activities that allow them to feel useful
and productive.
Always
treated as an adult and not a child.
Treated
with respect and seriousness with the sentiments they express.
Maintained
free of psychotic medications whenever possible.
Provided with a physically protective home environment.
Able
to enjoy stimulating reminiscing sensorial activities.
Facilitated
with rest areas and open-air activities.
Maintained
within the family circle by speaking with them, touching, hugging
and kissing them.
Remain
with people that they know in their life and avoid breaking the
traditional cultural and religious ties and lifestyles.
Cared
for and attended by their family group and/or people who have been
trained in the care for persons with dementia.
