    Our Mission

    We are committed to contribute to the quality of life for patients with Alzheimer's disease, their families, caregivers and our community through education, communication and service. 

    Our Vision

    AAPR's vision of  is to have a world free of Alzheimer's disease and optimize the quality of life for patients, relatives and caregivers.

    Our mission is focuses on three principal aspects: Education, Communication and Service. We strive to educate the community about the illness and keep them abreast of the latest scientific findings the researcher may make available.

    We offer educational programs related to the illness and the care of patients to health care professionals, family members and the community at large. We inform them about the latest medical, social and legal techniques.

    We organize support groups, participate in legislative promotion in favor of patients with Alzheimer's disease, project the establishment of care centers for patients, and organize relief groups for family members and caregivers.

    Our association opens its doors to any person/s motivated to serve and contribute as their capacity, time, and desire to participate permits.

    Our services are offered throughout the island. We initiate the organization of capitals of the association in different towns in order to attend to the necessity of the population that is affected by this illness either directly or indirectly.

    OUR STRATEGIC GOALS

  1. Develop innovative direct services to the caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease.

  2. Strengthen the caregiver's skills with how to manage and express their concerns so they can care for the patient with Alzheimer's.

  3. Provide relief services that improve the quality of life of the patient with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers.

  4. Maintain members of the association and all of the community informed about the latest educational activities of the association.

  5. Achieve increased participation of the membership in the activities of the association.

  6. Increase the source of funds delivered to the association in order to increase our services.

  7. Develop and strengthen the knowledge of Alzheimer's disease in the health care professionals, caregivers and relatives.

  8. Increase and strengthen the knowledge of Alzheimer's disease in our general community.

  9. Develop and evaluate educational material for its distribution.

  10. Impact the educational systems to promote the knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, the management and commitment to Alzheimer patients.

  11. Impact the government policy of Puerto Rico to guarantee quality services for the Alzheimer population.

  12. Strengthen the image of the association with key organizations of the community.
