How can you become a member?

Our association's regulations have established a Fifteen-Dollar annual membership fee ($20.00)

Members will receive our informative bulletin that is published three times annually, and invite you to the activities of the association.

SERVICES:

·        SUPPORT GROUPS

·        TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

·        HELP FOR RELATIVES AND CAREGIVERS OF PATIENTS WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

Support Groups for Transportation. Help is supported by;

·        Open Groups.

·        Facilitated health professionals and relatives that have or have had a loved one with Alzheimer's disease.

·        Having space for conflicts within a secure environment.

·        Ability to express feelings, conflicts, doubts, fears and information in the form of help and attention to the patient with Alzheimer's disease.

·        Groups that help the participant to find ways to confront daily situations which are oriented to relatives that care for patients with dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease.

PURPOSE:

Share feelings and experiences.

Learn more about the illness and its care.

Listen to others who share the same feelings and experiences.

Help others by sharing ideas, information and giving them support.

Offer the caregiver a rest and an opportunity to get out of the house.

Promote the health of the caregiver and his personal well-being.

To know that they are not alone.

Know the resources in the health field in the area that may assist the
  caregiver.

SOME SUBJECTS OR DILEMAS WHICH MAY COME UP:

·        If the patient should or should not know their diagnosis.

·        Problems in daily life/bathing/nutrition/urinary or fecal incontinence/ movement/others.

·        Negativity from other family members or collaborators.

·        The denial or not accepting of the illness on the part of one or many family members.

·        The treatments and medications most indicated.

·        Available services for these patients.

·        Why the affected person remembers some things and not others.

·        Legal aspects of the illness.
